Maker Background
Born in Verona in 1961, Cristiano Ferrazzi began his apprenticeship crafting his first instruments in the workshop of masters Guy Coquoz and Bruno Montagne in Verona in 1983. In 1985, he moved to Cremona to obtain a diploma as a "Restorer" under the guidance of masters G. B. Morassi and A. Voltini, and as a "Bow Maker" with master G. Lucchi. His craftsmanship gained him the third prize at the National Violin Making Competition in Baveno in 1989.
From 1992 to 1995, he pursued advanced courses with master J. Von Stietencron in Riva del Garda. He consistently uses personal models, developing a distinctive and vivid style. One of the most appreciated features of his current production is his oil varnish. This varnish not only gives his instruments a deep and vibrant "glow," reminiscent of the ancient Cremonese masters, but also provides a warm, enveloping, and rich tone.
