A Violin by Gibertoni & Nalin

Violin by Gibertoni & Nalin, Milan, 2023

The hands of a master maker crafted this violin inspired by Antonio Stradivari's 1716 "Messiah". Gibertoni & Nalin’s great knowledge of the Cremonese tradition is clearly highlighted in this antiqued violin. For us, its high point is the varnish’s patina and wear beautiful replicated like a violin from the 18th century. More

      Full description

For this violin, the spruce used for the top, with medium grain, was beautifully chosen. The two-piece back and neck maple features medium flames, unlike the sides, which are made of much narrower flamed maple. The Cremona violin is covered by a dark brown ground and reddish-brown color varnish.  Inspired by Antonio Stradivari's exquisite making technique, its aesthetics result in a fascinating and spellbinding craft. The uniqueness persuaded the makers to craft a fine violin that condenses all the features of the great Cremonese master.

      Gibertoni & Nalin

Stefano Gibertoni and Valerio Nalin collaborate together in the making of violins, violas and cellos in their workshop in Milan. The combination of a long and solid experience in construction, making and set up, together with a young mind, with a free and enthusiastic spirit, has proven to be a collaboration that is extremely stimulating for both of them.Learn more

Violin bow by Charles Louis Bazin, Mirecourt, c. 1920

      By Charles Louis Bazin  |

This amazing Modern Period French bow shows Louis Bazin's careful and refined approach. Considered to be the most consistent maker of the family history, Louis' bows elegance is at the rule in this example. In our opinion, this bow highpoint is the round chamfered "swan" style head.
