A Violin by Giovanni Dirlotti

Violin by Giovanni Dirlotti, Vicenza, 1906

This personal model violin was crafted by the hands of a modern master maker. Dirlotti’s early death prevented him from establishing a long career, but his craftsmanship skills are already notable in this early period instrument. In our opinion, the high point of this violin is its stunning single-piece deep flamed maple back. More

    Full description

This northern Italian violin outstands the high-quality craftsmanship present in Dirlotti's work, notable for its scroll and edge finishing. This violin, inspired by the work of his contemporary violin makers from the Veneto region, highlights Dirlotti's handcraft skills, intensely developed during the time he worked for Sgarabotto and Bisiach workshops under commission through the 1910s. The instrument's excellent condition allows us to see that, despite the maker's limited production due to his early death, his work presents refined attention to detail since his early career.

Violin bow by Eugène “Cuniot-Hury”, Mirecourt, c. 1895

    By Eugène “Cuniot-Hury”  |

This amazing French bow offers the best classic attributes expected from this maker. The very elegantly made round stick and the neat and precise mounting make his bows well-appreciated by musicians and collectors.  In our opinion, the perfect round progression of the stick remarks as this bow's highlight.
