Full description
A striking copy of one of the most iconic late-period violins by Giuseppe Guarneri del Gesù, the 1737 “Panette”, famously played by Isaac Stern. Luiz Amorim captures the bold personality and acoustic depth of the original, while infusing it with his own refined craftsmanship and sensibility.
This violin’s design reflects the transitional moment in del Gesù’s career—where elements of structural freedom and expressiveness are amplified, but still carry a balanced and mature approach to form. The strong arching, pronounced f-holes, and confident scroll are reimagined with extraordinary precision.
The instrument is coated in a warm red-brown varnish, lightly antiqued to evoke the patina and character of the original, while respecting the personality of Luiz Amorim’s own style. The one-piece maple back features a magnificent flame, and the spruce top was selected for both beauty and tonal clarity.
