Violin by Antonio Stradivari “Lam; Ex-Scotland University”
This remarkable violin, crafted during the final years of Stradivari's life, showcases his maturity and unmistakable artistry. The gently tilted f-holes cross the graceful arching of the top, hinting at the touch of his son Francesco. Its bold, round edges frame a stunning single-piece back of broad maple curls, bathed in a golden ground and topped with a silky red-brown varnish. The violin’s rich history includes its stewardship by notable musicians and collectors, and it currently inspires performances in the hands of virtuoso Giuseppe Gibboni.
View productViolin by Carlo Giuseppe Testore, Milan, c.1715
This stunning Italian masterpiece showcases the brilliance of Milanese violin-making tradition. With decisive arching, refined shallow fluting, and an exquisite golden varnish, this violin harmonizes natural beauty with powerful sound. It retains much of its original varnish in remarkable condition, highlighting Testore's exceptional craftsmanship. Featuring fine Italian spruce and slightly-flamed maple, this violin remains a treasured example of Testore's work.
View productViolin by Gennaro Gagliano, Naples, c.1750
This rare and exceptional instrument exhibits the versatile and spontaneous approach of Gennaro Gagliano and his profound knowledge of the great Cremonese tradition. It shows some peculiar details that precisely represent the work of Gennaro Gagliano. From our point of view, this instrument's most special feature is the strong and precisely sculpted arching of amatisè inspiration.
View productViolin by Giovanni Grancino, Milano, c. 1690
This beautiful and powerful violin was crafted by the hands of one of the most celebrated Italian classical violin makers. Grancino's elegance and deep inspiration in the great Cremonese Makers are notable in all its subtle details. In our opinion, the sinuous yet contained arching leads the eyes to move around the attractive outlines of this lovely instrument, which is one of its highlights, followed by the amazing varnish that still covers the most part of its body.
View productViolin by Antonio, Giovanni and Giuseppe Gagliano, Naples, c.1800
This violin shows the handcrafting of the great makers of the family third generation, who consolidated and matured the characteristics and style later known as the Classic Neapolitan School. The Small delicate Scroll, elongated peg-box shape, the flatter arching, strong resolute f-holes design.

Violin by Pietro Pallotta, Perugia, c.1800
This violin was crafted by an Italian Mastermaker at the end of the 18th century in his own personal style, model, and approach. It shows off Pallotta's elegance and inventiveness, deeply immersed in the 1700s Italian tradition, yet very particular and authentic in his decisions, from the choice of local wood sources for the back, sides, neck, and head to the constructive approach that made the acoustics of his instruments so famous amongst musicians.
View productViolin by Matteo Goffriller, Venice, c. 1715
This Venetian violin by Matteo Goffriller, c.1715, is a superb example of the city’s golden period of violin making. Featuring a stunning red varnish and a beautifully sculpted single-piece back, its standout quality is the noble, rich tone that reflects the elegant union of Italian finesse and Germanic structure—a hallmark of Goffriller’s artful legacy.

The violin that I have just purchased from Luiz is without question the best copy of a Guarneri “del Gesù” that I have put under my chin. It is responsive, big and beautiful sounding all in one. As you probably know, I used to play on the original Sainton “del Gesù” and it is no less commanding. In fact, the varnish is even more beautiful than the original.
Elmar Oliveira, Violinist, USA

When I met the Amorim family for the first time in Cremona I felt a big trust from the start. They helped me to find my top level instrument with patience and professionalism. I appreciate the close collaboration which I can only recommend especially for those who are in the middle of the process to find their own Instrument. I bought a wonderful violin by Matteo Goffriller in the Amorim Workshop in Cremona.
Julian Fahrner, Concertmaster, Germany

The instrument (Luiz Amorim copy of Montagnana) not only brings a lot of warmth, but also bass support and clarity to the sound. It gives some kind of personal singing voice to the music and is something special to work with. I feel that it is the perfect mix of the shape and appearance of the original cello, which is made very much like the original with the beautiful red/brown varnish. If you look at the back, you can see the three-dimensional qualities in the structure of the wood and the varnish, and I think that’s really appealing.
Daniel Müller-Schott, Cellist, Germany

Had a truly wonderful experience. Amorim Fine Violins is a great place to visit if you need to find a new instrument, to fix your own, or to get any advice regarding string instruments. The people working there are super kind, welcoming, and professional. Highly recommended!
Justina Auškelytė Rossi, Violinist, Lithuania

When I play, my cello by Luiz Amorim, what happens is that I almost forget that I am playing a modern instrument. The deep sound of the basses of this instrument is really very unique and this reminds me of some of the great cellos that I have tried before in my life, Strad, Montagnana, and a few other ones. It has so many of the qualities that you expect from an instrument that is 300 years old or more.
Antonio Meneses, Cellist, Brazil
