    Full description

Very fine crafted and highly suceeded, this great instrument was made as part of the attempt to keep diversity within the tradition. Still working from the Italian legacy of fine violins, the makers found their inspiration back in the 1700s Venetian School, making the violin after the work of a maker who is more often mentioned due to his outsanding cellos. Considerably more rare, Domenico Montagna's violins are equally rich and personal. This instrument was crafted with care since the selection of the woods, notable in the deeply and wide flamed maple used for the back.

    Hiller & Son

Father and son united by the passion of violin-making and working together to create true masterpieces. It all started with Bernd, who obtained his master in craftsman's diploma in 1986 under the guidance of violin maker Bernhard Wölz. Daniel followed the steps of his father and they now work together in their workshop in Germany. They make each instrument to be easy to play, rich in overtones, and comfortable in the hand and neck. Violin Bow by Kurt Dolling, Markneukirchen, c.1960

    By Kurt Dolling  |

This great Modern German bow was made by the hands of a mastermaker. Amongst the greater names of the bow-making tradition in Markneukirchen, Kurt Dolling's bows are sought after for their reliability, precision, and functionality. From our point of view, this bow exceeds for its precisely shaped and curved strong octagonal stick.
