This cello is a faithful copy of a 1695 Giuseppe Guarneri 'Filius Andrea' masterpiece, meticulously crafted by our master maker Luiz Amorim. With incredible attention to detail, Luiz recreated every element that makes the original cello so distinctive and a testament to the early Guarneri family's craftsmanship. The two-piece slab-cut maple back, with its exquisite figuring, is one of the standout features, faithfully mirroring the original instrument. The materials for this copy were carefully selected to align with the character of the 1695 Guarneri cello. The top is made from Italian Spruce from Val di Fiemme, with medium grain and subtle natural markings, chosen to achieve the best balance between aesthetics and acoustics. The maple for the back, ribs, neck, and head, sourced from the Balkans, was selected to complement the tonal richness while showcasing a visually captivating texture. The rich, golden-brown varnish highlights the elegance of the instrument, creating a warm and inviting presence. Guarneri ‘Filius Andrea’ cellos are celebrated for their versatility and tonal depth. The 1695 model, in particular, is renowned for its responsive and warm lower register, combined with a clear and penetrating upper register.
