Violin by Lorenzo Rossi, Milan 2014

All violins come with a certificate of authenticity

Full description

This remarkable violin by Lorenzo Rossi is a testament to the finest traditions of contemporary Cremonese violin-making. Crafted on his personal model, guided by Stradivari’s elegant and balanced approach, the instrument seamlessly merges historical inspiration with modern refinement. The top is made from premium Italian spruce with an even, regular grain that ensures both structural integrity and exceptional resonance. The single-piece maple back, selected for its striking figure, enhances the violin’s natural beauty while contributing to its rich tonal character.

The light orange varnish, deeply rooted in the classical Cremonese aesthetic, is applied with remarkable skill, giving the instrument a luminous and sophisticated presence. Rossi’s meticulous craftsmanship is evident in every detail, from the graceful arching to the finely executed edgework, which defines the violin’s harmonious outline. With its excellent tonal response, clarity, and depth, this violin embodies the maker’s artistic vision—melding tradition with individuality to create an instrument of remarkable elegance and expressiveness.

Violin Bow by Kurt Dolling, Markneukirchen, c.1960

By Kurt Dolling  |

This great Modern German bow was made by the hands of a mastermaker. Amongst the greater names of the bow-making tradition in Markneukirchen, Kurt Dolling's bows are sought after for their reliability, precision, and functionality. From our point of view, this bow exceeds for its precisely shaped and curved strong octagonal stick.
