A Violin by Vittorio Rosti

Violin by Vittorio Rosti, Castelfranco, 2006

This Italian violin, a personal model, was crafted by a master maker. Rosti's connection with his local tradition is evident in the selection of the model and the crafting of its main features. In our opinion, the amazing and spontaneous patterned flames of the back are the high point of this instrument. More

    Full description

This violin top was crafted from carefully selected Medium-grain Italian spruce sourced from Val di Fiemme. Its back features a two-piece Poplar with medium regular flames interspersed with irregular patterns. The sides, neck, and head are made of similar Poplar wood patterns. The varnish adorning it is a vibrant golden-yellow hue. This violin is an excellent choice for those who are looking for an instrument with a sweet aspect to its tone.

Violin Bow by Emil Max Penzel, Erlbach, c. 1930

    By Emil Max Penzel  |

A unique mastermaker crafted this Exceptional Pre-WorldWarII German bow. One of the most recognized makers of Germany's early 1900s, Emil Max Penzel, elegantly displays his references and his origins among the makers of the Pfretszchner workshop in this bow, yet preserves and flaunts his own style. In our opinion, the most noticeable aspect of this bow, beyond the excellent craftsmanship, is the stunning high-quality Pernambuco wood.
