A Violin by Marco Pedrini

Violin by Marco Pedrini, Cremona, 2022

A Stradivari model violin crafted by the hands of an experienced maker. Marco shows a great knowledge of Cremonese traditional hand craftsmanship.  In our view, the high spot is its elegant slightly antique varnish, which highlights the beautiful deep flames of the maple used for the back, incredibly similar to the original instrument. Full description

This cremona violin made in 2022 is modelled and copied after the great A.Stradivari 1704 "Sleeping beauty", one of the finest and most preserved Stradivari violins of the golden period, due to the fact the it was kept by the same owner for almost 300 years.
The wood used is very old, and the selection of the pieces was made based on the aesthetics of the original instrument, with the regular, wide and deep flamed maple from the Balkans for the back, sides and neck. And so was the option for the oil based varnish of orange-brown colour over the deep golden ground. "The most successful part of this cremona violin is the arching of the top and back. Following the thicknesses, the arching is the best example of what distinguishes me: searching for a perfect balance between the instruments' solidity and their best acoustic performance." Marco Pedrini

Violin Bow by Kurt Dolling, Markneukirchen, c.1960

    By Kurt Dolling  |

This great Modern German bow was made by the hands of a mastermaker. Amongst the greater names of the bow-making tradition in Markneukirchen, Kurt Dolling's bows are sought after for their reliability, precision, and functionality. From our point of view, this bow exceeds for its precisely shaped and curved strong octagonal stick.
