Whether you’re a professional musician or a student this is a unique opportunity to explore contemporary, modern, and old cellos form the Amorim Collection, including masterpieces by Luiz Amorim!
The special event will take place on March 22nd 2025, at Amorim Fine Violins Cremona, located at Piazza Marconi 7/b, Cremona, Italy.
What to Expect
10am – Masterclass with Gabriel Schwabe
Participate either as an active player (limited spots) or a listener, and gain valuable insights from one of today’s leading cellists.
3pm – Cello Tasting Session
Try an exceptional selection of instruments from our collection, including contemporary and old cellos. Gabriel Schwabe will be there to guide you, offering expert advice.
7pm – Exclusive Recital
End the day with a special performance by Gabriel Schwabe playing his Giuseppe Filius Andrea, 1695 cello and the copy of it made by Luiz Amorim.
About Gabriel Schwabe
Gabriel Schwabe is an acclaimed cellist and laureate of three prestigious international competitions: the Grand Prix Emanuel Feuermann, the Concours Rostropovich, and the Pierre Fournier Award. As a soloist, he has performed with leading orchestras, including the London Philharmonia, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, and NCPA Orchestra Beijing.
His 2010 recital debut at London’s Wigmore Hall marked a significant milestone in his career. Since 2015, Schwabe has been an exclusive recording artist with Naxos, receiving critical acclaim for his recordings with orchestras such as the Malmö Symphony Orchestra and Royal Northern Sinfonia.
Born in Berlin to German-Spanish parents, he studied at the Kronberg Academy, with further guidance from Janos Starker and Gidon Kremer. He is currently a professor of cello at HfMT Cologne and the Conservatorium Maastricht.

The Workshop
Amorim Fine Violins is a violin, viola, and cello workshop based in Cremona. Our mission is to provide musicians with instruments so they can uniquely express themselves. We are a family business, just like the workshops of Stradivari and Guarneri. Founded in 2001 by the renowned violin maker Luiz Amorim and his wife, Betina Schreiner. We bring our fine arts experience into the violin-making field. .
