Five of Louis Joseph Morizot's sons followed in their father's footsteps to become bow makers: Paul Charles, Louis Gabriel, André Auguste, Paul Georges, and Marcel Louis. Working together in the family workshop, their contributions became increasingly significant after the 1920s. However, in 1937, they made the decision to establish their own workshop. While strongly influenced by their father's style, the Morizot brothers later embraced models inspired by renowned bow makers such as Peccatte, Lupot, and Simon. This adaptability allowed them to evolve their craft and explore new techniques.
In addition to producing a large quantity of bows, the Morizot brothers played a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of bow makers. They trained notable artisans including Jean-Jacques Millant, Bernard Millant, Roger François Lotte, and Marcel Lapierre, ensuring the continuation of their legacy. The Morizot workshop served as a nurturing ground for cultivating the talents of the next generation of bow makers following the Second World War. However, despite its significant contributions to the craft, the workshop faced challenges during another economic downturn in the 1960s. Sadly, these hardships ultimately led to the closure of the workshop in 1970. Nevertheless, the Morizot family's legacy lives on through the exceptional bows they crafted and the artisans they inspired and trained.
