Originally trained as a violinist, Alessandro di Matteo’s early curiosity about sound extended beyond performance into the study of acoustics and Hi-Fi audio systems. This analytical approach inspired him to develop a unique method of violin making, blending insights from historical manuscripts, firsthand accounts, and modern acoustic theories. Encouraged and supported by the distinguished violin maker Alessandro Crylov, he pursued formal training at the Antonio Stradivari International School of Violin Making in Cremona.Graduating with honors in 1998, Alessandro committed himself to the art of violin making, refining his craftsmanship and earning recognition through numerous international awards. Since 2001, he has also served as a faculty member at the Stradivari School, where he shares his expertise with emerging luthiers.
