    This amazing cello bow is a perfect and fine-crafted snapshot of Pfretzschner's work at the beginning of the 20th Century. This elegant bow has a perfectly shaped round dark-brown Pernambuco wood stick made in the style of F.N Voirin, whose elegance and refinement expose all the high-level qualities achieved by the maker. The dense dark ebony and silver frog carries the stamp of the Saxon royal court of arms, as in all Pfretzschner bows after 1901. This bow highlight is the elegant roundness noticeable in the perfect shape of the angled forward projected head.

    One of the greatest names of German Bow-making school, H.R Pfretzschner was born within the craft, and learned from his father, Carl Richard Pfretzschner in Markneukirchen. After Working in Paris for J.B. Vuillaume, he gave birth to one of the most long-lasting traditional family business in the german bow-making community. Learn more
