Full description
This refined violin by Andrea Cabrini, made in Cremona in 2024, is crafted on a broad Amati model, reflecting the enduring elegance of the classical Cremonese tradition. The outline is harmonious and fluid, with delicately elongated corners and balanced proportions. The arching follows the classical Cremonese approach, sculpted with discipline and natural flow, preserving the architectural purity that defines the Amati grand pattern.
The scroll is executed in the true Amati spirit — proportionally turned, delicately carved, and precisely finished, embodying refinement and clarity of form. The f-holes follow the grand Amati pattern, elegantly positioned within the arching and contributing to the instrument’s noble and classical aesthetic.
The violin is built from exceptional materials. The single-piece maple back displays erratic yet luminous flame of striking beauty, matched by ribs and scroll cut from the same wood. The top, in carefully acoustically measured medium-grain Italian spruce, reflects thoughtful selection and tonal intention.
Finished in a handsome orange-brown varnish with subtle antiquing and gentle wear, the surface presents warmth, transparency, and maturity while maintaining the vitality of a contemporary Cremonese instrument.
Tonally, the instrument offers a dark, direct, and focused voice, with strong core and substantial body. Its sound is robust and powerful, yet controlled — particularly suited for musicians seeking depth, projection, and authority in performance settings.
A compelling example of modern Cremonese craftsmanship, this violin represents a confident continuation of the Amati lineage, thoughtfully interpreted for the demands of today’s performers.

Violin Bow by Kurt Dolling, Markneukirchen, c.1960
By Kurt Dolling |
This great Modern German bow was made by the hands of a mastermaker. Amongst the greater names of the bow-making tradition in Markneukirchen, Kurt Dolling's bows are sought after for their reliability, precision, and functionality. From our point of view, this bow exceeds for its precisely shaped and curved strong octagonal stick.
