Full description

Alberto Pasolini’s 2025 violin is a refined tribute to the elegant and balanced style of Giovanni Battista Guadagnini. Crafted in Cremona, this instrument embodies Pasolini’s ability to merge historical inspiration with contemporary precision, resulting in a violin of exceptional beauty and tonal sophistication.

Built after Guadagnini’s classic model, the violin features a top made from premium Italian spruce with a tight and even grain, ensuring sensitivity and clarity of response. The single piece back, fashioned from deeply flamed maple, is distinguished by its harmonious symmetry and natural luminosity — hallmarks of Pasolini’s meticulous wood selection.

The varnish, a luminous reddish-golden hue with subtle amber reflections, has been masterfully shaded and delicately antiqued to evoke the warmth and charm of 18th-century Italian craftsmanship. Every detail — from the clean edgework to the graceful scroll — reflects Pasolini’s refined technique and artistic maturity.

In sound, this violin offers a noble balance of sweetness, projection, and depth. Its tone is open and resonant across all registers, with a particularly singing upper range and a firm, warm lower register — qualities that recall the lyrical power of Guadagnini’s best instruments. Ideal for the discerning musician, this violin combines elegance, expressive range, and a distinctly Italian voice.

Violin Bow by Kurt Dolling, Markneukirchen, c.1960

By Kurt Dolling  |

This great Modern German bow was made by the hands of a mastermaker. Amongst the greater names of the bow-making tradition in Markneukirchen, Kurt Dolling's bows are sought after for their reliability, precision, and functionality. From our point of view, this bow exceeds for its precisely shaped and curved strong octagonal stick.
