Full description

This great Modern German bow was made by the hands of a mastermaker. Amongst the greater names of the bow-making tradition in Markneukirchen, Kurt Dolling's bows are sought after for their reliability, precision, and functionality. This bow shows a strong yet gentle and elegant handle. With a rather reactive grip, the robust Pernambuco stick provides a stable and precise stiffness, which seems to have been a response to the demand of the musicians of the Soviet Union at the time and their techniques. The bow produces a light and sweet tone. It is in mint condition. The stick is made of a light-brown Pernambuco wood of classic bulk octagonal shape, adorned with a lovely precise handmade nickel-mounting.

Violin by Andrea Cabrini, Cremona 2024

By Andrea Cabrini  |  , 2024

This violin by Andrea Cabrini, made in Cremona in 2024, is built on a broad Amati model, featuring harmonious classical arching, delicately elongated corners, and refined grand-pattern f-holes. The elegant Amati-inspired scroll complements a striking single-piece maple back of luminous erratic flame and a carefully selected medium-grain Italian spruce top. Finished in a handsome orange-brown varnish with subtle antiquing, the instrument delivers a dark, direct, and focused tone with strong projection and body, making it an excellent choice for demanding performers seeking depth and authority in sound.
