Full description

This intriguing and broad-sounding viola is a very fine example of modern Italian violin-making. 20th-century makers were often introduced to the world of Luthierie at a later age or through the violin makers they used to go when musicians and the cases of self-thought makers are not rare. Yet, the level of craftsmanship and quality achieved by these makers, like Giuseppe Ferrari, is outstanding, as they often had access to great mentors. This viola, made in a personal model, features a high-quality resonance spruce top. The wood used for the back, ribs, neck, and head is a deep flamed maple of a width. The instrument exhibits an amazing clear orange varnish. The f-holes show a long, wide design, exhibiting his virtuosity and his local inspiration in the Emilian school.
