Luiz Amorim

Luiz Amorim is the founder and master luthier of Amorim Fine Violins in Cremona. Born in Curitiba, Brazil, in 1964, he trained first at State School of Music and Fine Arts (1985), and worked for a decade as a professional artist before turning to instrument making in 1995. He founded the atelier in 2001, moving its headquarters to Cremona in 2018. He builds violins, violas and cellos, working from the classical Cremonese and Venetian models, and he also carries out the atelier's appraisals and condition assessments, handling, restoring and valuing antique Italian instruments daily.
