Full description

This remarkable cello by Pio Montanari, crafted in Genova in 2023, pays homage to Francesco Rugeri’s legendary craftsmanship. The instrument’s ribs and back are made of fine willow, prized for its light density, which contributes to a rich, sweet, and colorful tone. The top is meticulously carved from premium Italian spruce with a beautifully even grain, ensuring optimal resonance. The head, crafted from delicately flamed maple, adds a refined visual touch, enhancing the cello’s elegance. Montanari’s exceptional attention to detail and his mastery of Rugeri’s design principles result in an instrument that balances sweetness and precision. The cello’s tonal palette is versatile and expressive, making it an ideal choice for both intimate settings and grand concert performances. Its golden-Orange new-looking varnish completes this extraordinary instrument, embodying tradition and artistry in perfect harmony.
