Violin by Caterina Rota Kim, Cremona 2024

Price

15,000 EUR

All violins come with a certificate of authenticity

Full description

This exceptional violin, crafted by Caterina Rota Kim in 2024 in Cremona, pays homage to Antonio Stradivari’s PG form from his golden period. The lightly flamed single-piece maple back adds elegance, while the medium-width Italian spruce top, with its full and flatter arching, enhances projection and tonal cohesion. Rota Kim’s restoration background shines in her precise antiquing technique, reflected in the orange-brown and golden varnish that brings warmth and depth. This violin offers a rich tonal palette—bright, clear, and powerful, yet balanced by rich overtones—making it an outstanding choice for solo performances. It is a true testament to Cremonese craftsmanship and Rota Kim’s artistry.

Violin Bow by Kurt Dolling, Markneukirchen, c.1960

By Kurt Dolling  |

This great Modern German bow was made by the hands of a mastermaker. Amongst the greater names of the bow-making tradition in Markneukirchen, Kurt Dolling's bows are sought after for their reliability, precision, and functionality. From our point of view, this bow exceeds for its precisely shaped and curved strong octagonal stick.
