It all begins with the wood — usually spruce and maple, selected with exceptional care. From the arching of the top to the layout of the purfling, every detail directly shapes the tone and sonic character of the instrument.

This artisanal process respects the natural pace of each stage: the time needed for wood to dry, the precise carving of the f-holes, the application of varnishes that protect without suppressing the wood’s natural vibration and the final setup of the violin. The result is a sound that is alive, deep, and expressive.

The Legacy of Italian Lutherie

At Amorim Fine Violins, each instrument carries the legacy of Italian violin making, strongly influenced by the Cremonese tradition — the cradle of legendary masters such as Stradivari, Guarneri, and Amati.
 Our construction methods, molds, and varnishes follow the classical principles that have defined violin-making excellence since the 17th century.

This influence is not just technical — it’s philosophical: to respect the materials, listen to the instrument, and value the process above haste.

The Workshop

Amorim Fine Violins is a violin, viola, and cello workshop based in Cremona. Our mission is to provide musicians with instruments so they can uniquely express themselves. We are a family business, just like the workshops of Stradivari and Guarneri. Founded in 2001 by the renowned violin maker Luiz Amorim and his wife, Betina Schreiner. We bring our fine arts experience into the violin-making field. .
