Gino Sfarra is an Italian Luthier based in L'Acquila, where he crafts stringed instruments in his workshop, together with taking care of restoration processes and repairs. As a master luthier and restorer, he is dedicated to achieving musical excellence while preserving the rich tradition of Italian craftsmanship.He received his training at the Civica Scuola di Liuteria in Milan. During his studies, he developed his skills as a luthier under the guidance of Masters Lorenzo Rossi and Stefano Gibertoni, which allowed him to unveil his own distinctive style.
He decided to settle in his hometown and he is now based L’Aquila, the capital of the Abruzzo region. Over the years, he has earned numerous awards at national and international competitions, and his instruments have been displayed at major international exhibitions. He is also a member of the Violin Society of America and is a regular participant at the Oberlin Violin Makers Workshop, where he continues to expand his expertise.
