Made in Cremona in 2011 by Alessandro di Matteo, this violin is modeled after the powerful and expressive style of Guarneri ‘Del Gesù’. The instrument embodies a thoughtful balance between traditional inspiration and the personal refinement that characterizes Di Matteo’s best work.

The top is made of finely grained Italian spruce, paired with a beautifully figured two-piece maple back. The woodwork is complemented by an orange-brown varnish applied with care, lending warmth and depth to the instrument’s visual appeal while enhancing its antique-inspired character.

The arching is, in our opinion, the most compelling element of this violin—precisely shaped and fluid, it reflects a deep understanding of how form meets function. This subtle yet sophisticated arching contributes to the instrument’s resonant, rich tone, offering a responsive and expressive sound ideal for advanced and professional players.
