      Full description

This exceptional and rare example of Giuseppe Guadagnini's work stands out as one of the most characteristic of his instruments, holding together all of his most remarkable features: His very own design and model, influenced by his father’s work., the singular design, the elegant light fluting, the precise-cut edges, the spontaneous, long and rounded f-whole cuts, and the attractive tone of the ground color. The combination of the mild and elegant arching with the high-quality material results in the rich and delightful sound of this stunning violin. This instrument is in a rare state of preservation at its age, as it presents minimum repairs at the top, and the back and sides are practically clean. The charming original varnish is almost untouched and still covers a major part of the entire instrument.

      Giuseppe Guadagnini

Giuseppe Guadagnini I, the renowned violin maker, began his illustrious journey under the guidance of his father, Giovanni Battista. During the 1760s and 1770s, he diligently assisted his father in crafting violins in Parma and Turin. By 1771, the Guadagnini family had established their workshop in Turin, and Giuseppe, alongside his elder brother Gaetano, had already become instrumental in his father's craft. Learn more

Violin Bow by Emil Max Penzel, Erlbach, c. 1930

      By Emil Max Penzel  |

A unique mastermaker crafted this Exceptional Pre-WorldWarII German bow. One of the most recognized makers of Germany's early 1900s, Emil Max Penzel, elegantly displays his references and his origins among the makers of the Pfretszchner workshop in this bow, yet preserves and flaunts his own style. In our opinion, the most noticeable aspect of this bow, beyond the excellent craftsmanship, is the stunning high-quality Pernambuco wood.
